Full-time, permanent position

Breedon Surfacing Solutions are the class-leading surfacing business in Scotland and as such we're looking to recruit the best talent the industry has to offer. We operate a range of equipment including pavers, rollers, diggers, dumpers and small hand tools to within the infrastructure, construction, utilities and sectors. The role is within South Scotland Area which covers East to West from Fife & Tayside to Dumfries & Galloway with Depots in Dundee, Fife, Oban and Killoch.

As a mobile plant mechanic, you will play an important role in the success of the business by ensuring that our surfacing gangs remain operational through the efficient servicing and maintaining of a variety of plant and tools within the fleet.

As part of our high-performing team, you will be responsible for:

  • First stage of breakdown issues
  • Maintenance of machines
  • Trouble shooting
  • Ordering parts
  • All documentation
  • Monitoring of job sheets
  • Customer satisfaction

Successful Applicants should demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience working as a plant mechanic/fitter role with a relevant mechanical qualification or time served
  • Sound and current knowledge of plant & machinery maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • A customer-focussed approach workload and committed team player
  • Have excellent time keeping
  • A valid driving licence is essential

We would consider candidates with a mechanical engineering background, heavy plant, HGV, forklift or similar transferrable skills.
