Location: Covering South London sites- from City of London, to Battersea, to Forest Hill, to Greenwich
Business Area: Facilities Management - London Fire Brigade contract
Contract: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Kier Places are recruiting today for a Mobile Multi Skilled Engineer, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Facilities Management Hard & Technical Services solution for our prestigious client, the London Fire Brigade.
Key Responsibilities
As a focused and trusted Mobile Multi Skilled Electrician / Electrical Engineer you will deliver a combination of electrical, mechanical, water and building fabric Planned, Reactive and extra works engineering services specialising in electrical disciplines, across a region, and to multiple client sites including Fire Stations & office areas. You will be assisting in ensuring Kier deliver a safe, customer focused, cost effective, efficient and compliant service in order to meet its contractual and legal obligations.
Whilst electrically biased, this role is multi-skilled and encompasses various PPM tasks including, but not limited to, tap testing, flushing & fixing, legionella tests, pump/compressor fault diagnosis, assessing plant equipment, fire alarm, emergency lighting, fuses, desk management, HVAC, AHU's & compressors maintenance, and other general maintenance works within your abilities such as minor fabric, electric, plumbing & heating repairs.
Electrical activities will include lighting and power installation works, re-lamping of fittings and general repair, socket replacement, and other repairs or installations; carrying out electrical tests such as annual emergency light testing, DB and RCD checks, testing and certification of all works in accordance with NICEIC regulations.
You should also be comfortable working on ladders, in tight spaces, and in plant rooms; working alone or in a team; and be comfortable moving/transporting tooling & access equipment of all sizes & weights.
What do we need from you?
We're looking for a proactive Engineer who is a Qualified Electrician (e.g. Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds 2360, 2330, 2356, 2357, AM1/AM2, or equivalent) with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018 / Level 3 C&G 2382) certificate; Initial Verification of (2391-50), and Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certifications of Electrical Installations (C&G 2391-51 or equivalent) certificate; with fault finding and planned maintenance experience, and has the ability to conduct a variety of building & facilities maintenance tasks, including, but not limited to, electrics & lighting, water & plumbing, HVAC, AHUs & compressors.
To be a Multi Skilled Engineer with Kier, you'll bring with you previous experience in commercial building services / facilities management; and as a bonus, you may have Double Poll lighting experience, PASMA, Working At Height, IPAF certification, and L8 Legionella awareness.
Due to the nature of this position you should have a full UK driving licence, be happy travelling across the county to different sites, and be able to participate in the on-call rota system covering out of hours and weekends.
