Contract: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday

Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME) are an internal MEP self-delivery business within the Kier group, supporting the internal regional businesses across the UK and the Strategic Projects business on complex and challenging projects. The business has a full design, construct and commissioning capability.


We are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer, to join our delivery team on our Marylebone Square Project. The project is a c.£50M scheme with c.£20M MEP across the project. The project is a new build apartment block with both affordable accommodation and high-end residential space together with an underground carpark. The project will need a highly motivated and exacting Senior Engineer. The project is currently in the early stages of construction with planned completion July 2023.


The role will report to the MEP Project Manager and have the full responsibility for the MEP delivery of the mechanical services supported by and electrical biased colleague with further responsibilities for management and control of off-site manufacture production, logistics and installation.


Key Responsibiltiies:

Project specific- MEP lead for Kier in the management of schemes where MEP delivery is solely by external subcontractors, managing a small Kier MEP delivery management team and reporting to the project senior management team

  • Safe management and control of the services installation under your responsibility

  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control of the works

  • Management of programme sequence and delivery milestones

  • Equipment technical appraisals and compliancy reviews

  • Co-ordination of the installation and associated supply chain recourse

  • Risk identification Mitigation and management

  • Weekly progress and performance reports

  • Management of design information and change control

  • Commissionability reviews.


What do we need from you?

We require you to Hold the relevant industry qualifications: Trade/HNC/HND etc. with demonstrated experience in management and control of multiple Sub-contractor controlling performance, safety, quality, productivity and programme. The ability to communicate technical and none-technical information relative to audience as well as a high level of competence in digital construction methods BIM & Field tools. To also have Demonstrated commercial awareness and Risk Management. A minimum of SMSTS or equivalent levels of SHE qualification. Past experience in safe control of mechanical systems preferable.
