Location: Flexible working available, where you working on sites in London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and working with our team based out of our Basingstoke office. Home working available with travel to London & Basginstoke sites/offices 2-3 days a week.

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday

Kier Places are recruiting now for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our passionate Capital Projects Pre-Construction Team and assist on a portfolio of projects including recladding high-rise building projects. Our projects are in London & along the M4 Corridor, with values ranging from £2 million to £9 million, and by their nature are safety critical construction works and involve significant fire and general safety risk.

This is a recently formed team, which has huge long-term growth opportunity - we're looking for an individual who has a passion for the project at hand, who's able to work as part of a closely knit team that has the opportunity to develop and control its own destiny.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with Kier Capital Projects, you will be part of a small team dedicated to the delivery process of two stage and single stage cladding opportunities. Supporting a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved with the commercial management of all aspects of these opportunities / projects and your key responsibilities will be to effectively manage costs, assist in project reporting, general commercial management of accounts, profitability, and managing risk in a safe, effective & ethical manner.

You will support a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the appointment of consultants and subcontractors, regular financial reporting, processing and administration of applications for payment upstream and downstream, and support managing relationships with the Client and the appointed professional teams.

What do we need from you?

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor candidate should have/be studying a relevant Quantity Surveying qualification; have experience relevant to the commercial aspects of multi-discipline projects; and can demonstrate good general Construction, Health & Safety legislation knowledge and best practices. Whilst expertise in cladding and envelope construction is not essential, experience of delivering projects under JCT or NEC forms of contract will be, within a construction refurbishment environment.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with Kier, you'll be providing commercial input and quantity surveying services to support turnover of £30m per annum, meaning collaborative working with all external and internal stakeholders will be crucial.
