Location: Covering all areas of London

Business Area: Kier Places - Housing Maintenance - Grainger Housing Partnership

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week + call out & standby


Kier Places are recruiting now for a Gas Engineer to join our Housing Maintenance team in London to support our Grainger Housing Partnership, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a housing maintenance & repairs service to the residents of London & surrounding areas, through repairs, maintenance & installations of heating systems.


Key Responsibilities

As a Gas Engineer with Kier Housing Maintenance, you will undertake installation, servicing, repairs and testing duties of heating & boiler systems, testing & purging of gas pipework, and minor after-trade / making-good work, in void & occupied residential properties. You will be assisting in ensuring Kier deliver a safe, customer focused, cost effective, efficient, and compliant service in order to meet its contractual and legal obligations.

We'll trust you to provide high quality, 'right first time', cost effective service to the business, client, and its customers., and conduct work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, Safe Systems of Work and recognised industrial standards for such work, minimising damage to the fabric of the property, adhering to the Kier Group Safety, Health and Environment Management System ('KGSHEMS') requirements at all times.


What do we need from you?

To be a Gas Engineer with Kier, you'll need experience with installation & maintenance of heating systems; you'll hold relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, CENWAT, CCN1, CPA1, HTR1, CKR1); and have worked in social housing / housing maintenance environments. Due to the nature of our housing stock, it would be an advantage if you experience with commercial boiler systems, have knowledge of Valiant heating systems, and Vented / Unvented Hot Water Systems.

Due to the nature of this role, you should have a full driving licence, be prepared to conduct regular travel across London day-to-day, and be able to participate in the out of hours & weekends emergency on-call out rota.
