Job Title: Sub-Agent ( Track Engineer ) Location: Oxford Station Business area: Infrastructure Major Projects Contract: Full Time, Permanent Salary: competitive + benefits We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working with Network Rail, we are delivering Oxford Station Phase 2 works which will increase capacity through Oxford Station to accommodate additional services planned from 2024. We are now recruiting for a Sub-Agent ( Track Engineer ) to join our Infrastructure team in Oxford. You wil manage the technical compliance of the project to the design specification in order to fulfil the assigned project (or section) safely, on time and to the required quality. Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Site Agent in managing a significant section of the project as the Sub-Agent.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Health & Safety policies and procedures in accordance with Kier and Network Rail standards.?
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Performance Excellence.?
  • Promote integrated working with other members within the project to create a one-team ethos, including development of team members.?
  • Support the Site Agent with cost management of your project, ensuring robust control of Target Cost, actual costs and forecasts through commercial awareness.?
  • Ensure all labour, plant, materials and supply chain resources are accurately recorded.?
  • Identify areas of opportunity and improvement.?
  • Create a programme to plan and measure the day-to-day activities.?
  • Quality assurance in accordance with the specification.?
What do we need from you?

  • Relevant qualifications - degree level, or equivalent experience
  • Working towards becoming a Chartered Member of the ICE.
  • Knowledge and experience of the main management systems and processes used within a similar business, preferably in a Network Rail or comparable setting.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach to work.
  • Working as part of a team to deliver objective of the department and company.
  • Enthusiastic, collaborative approach.
  • Commercial and Contractual awareness.?
  • Liaise in a professional manner with Client, Client Representatives, General Public.??
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Proven people and project management skills.?
  • Good organisational skills.
