We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Highways team in Edmonton to accurately capture costs, aid, procurement and prepare monthly management accounts and information to support decision making, process improvement and drive contract efficiencies.


Key Responsibilities

In this exciting Finance Assistant role, you're support the contract management team in driving contract efficiencies and maintain accurate cost capture to aid financial reporting and supporting business decision making. You'll also ensure appropriate systems of internal control are maintained and development of an adherence to company procedures. Part of this role is to support the contract management team in the production of monthly management accounts and the other financial information to Kier Highways deadlines. You'll be also responsible for raising purchase orders, entering good receipts, monitoring registered invoice control and resolving invoice queries. In addition, you'll distribute cost and workflow reports and working with contracts team to ensure processes are adhered to such that these reports are a true reflection of current performance.


What do we need from you?


  • Qualification such as AAT, CIMA, ACCA or ACA
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Computerised Accounting Systems, Causeway experience desirable
  • Excellent communicator both verbal and written and a willing contributor within meetings.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, with accurate outputs
  • Exercises sound judgement adding value through challenge where appropriate.
  • Desire to progress through personal drive and commitment to the delivery of results.
  • Demonstrates analytical, creative and proactive thinking as well as problem solving.
  • Technically competent and well versed in financial disciplines
  • Ideally has experience in either the construction, highways maintenance or utilities industries.
