Senior Interior Designer Job in New York, NY

New requirement for a Senior Interior Designer with a background in retail design to join an established commercial and retail design firm in New York City. This position will see you working alongside the senior leadership team and include client-facing and team management responsibilities. The role is offering a salary of circa $100,000 plus benefits and hybrid working.

Specialising in corporate interiors and retail design this practice has a long-standing history of working with prestigious clients across the globe in both, the workplace and retail sectors. The team of almost 200 covers all stages of design and is split across two offices in New York. Due to the continued expansion of their portfolio, they're now looking to appoint a Senior Interior Designer on a full-time permanent basis.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation, development, and delivery of client presentations and new business pitches
  • Liaise with clients across the design phases of projects
  • Oversee the design team and work alongside the managing executives for the retail team
  • Development of space planning/test-fits, schematic planning, program analysis, and code analysis
  • Establish a design scope budget, including analysis and documentation
  • Assist with concept designs, both 2D and 3D drawings/renders, lighting, and FF&E
  • FF&E specification and selection, liaising with suppliers, and leading furniture showroom tours
  • Coordination of design development packages for the construction documentation stage, specifying construction and millwork details
  • Attend site and client visits.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in retail design; ideally with high-end recognized brands and flagship stores
  • Degree qualified in Interior Design, ideally registered.
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite
  • Client-facing experience, including pitching experience and ability to win new business
  • Team management experience
  • NCIDQ qualified, WELL, and/or other industry-relevant qualifications are highly desirable.
