Gleeson Recruitment Group are working with a rapidly growing manufacturing and high precision engineering business as they seek to add a Group Financial Accountant to their team based in Northamptonshire.

The business in question is an instantly recognisable brand, with a global following and holds an exceptional reputation for developing bespoke high-performance products.

Supporting the Financial Controller, you will maintain a high quality and professional technical accounting function to ensure robust, compliant, and efficient financial processes operate across the team. You must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Maintain and improve the financial accounting capability of the company giving confidence to the team's stakeholders regarding integrity of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate monthly accounting and reporting cycle for P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet.
  • Produce monthly reports and analysis as required to meet the demands of Senior Management.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain a technical expertise to ensure global taxation (direct & indirect) is managed efficiently but in compliance with laws in all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Management of the Team's fixed asset register, depreciation policies and associated accounting.
  • Management and reporting of the Team's lease accounting.
  • Be the technical expert on all Financial Accounting matters, using external advisors as required.
  • Oversee the creation of financial statements in line with FRS102 for the business and its subsidiaries and holding entity (consolidation).
  • Manage the end-to-end process and be the point of contact for the business for all aspects of taxation.
  • Ensure robust, resilient, efficient, and enabling financial controls are in place across the whole organisation.
  • Strengthen business processes and procedures.
  • Assist the Financial Controller, and other members of the finance team, with ad-hoc requests as required.

This role would be best suited to a practice trained and Qualified (ACA OR ACCA) Accountant, however our client is far from naive and will also happily consider Qualified Accountants (ACMA OR CGMA) but you must have the relevant industry experience.
