Assistant Quantity Surveyor


Location: Kier office in Maple Cross, Hertfordshire, with working from home available and site visits required

Salary: £28,000 to £35,000

Contract: Fixed Term - 12 months

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services and we are now recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Utilities Source Design team in Maple Cross, working on the utilities surrounding projects such as HS2. This will be a 12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within the project teams liaising with the Partner Commercial Lead, Project Engineers, Procurement Coordinators, Planners, Site Team Leaders and Site Managers
  • Alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor, provide commercial management for an allocated programme area of an embedded alliance contract
  • Assist with the control of costs, maximise value, minimising future liabilities and maintaining the required standard of quality and safety

What do we need from you?


  • Experience of working with utilities and NEC3 framework
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • An understanding of budgeting, cost control, risk mitigation and business targets and reporting requirements
