An enthusiastic, proactive, commercially minded Account Manager is required by a leading distributor of safety, welfare and site equipment for the construction industry to provide exceptional customer-focused support & service to all customers at all times.


The Account Manager will forensically follow up all commercial opportunities, ensuring delivery of the 'OnSite Experience' in line with the company growth strategy. This position is regarded as a 'consultative sales' role with some of the day-to-day activities including building relationships with clients across multiple touch points, booking and completing client visits (virtual and F2F), etc. The successful candidate will need to join the team in their drive to exceed their targets and demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement.


The ideal candidate will have a naturally warm personality, with a desire to becoming the clients trusted advisor, making the customer's journey as efficient and pleasant as possible. The successful candidate will also take responsibility for driving new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, raising quotes and closing new business. As such, previous experience in a proactive sales role (external or internal) would be highly beneficial.


Given the above we are seeking someone who can demonstrate full understanding and delivery of growing existing business with good sales skills. Meeting customer's needs first and fast is critical, along with making OnSite an easy company to deal with.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop trusted relationships with customers by meeting needs thus ensuring a long term mutually beneficial relationship which will withstand competition
  • Being the trusted advisor to the clients
  • Managing the client portfolio opportunity pipeline to ensure opportunities are tracked, followed up and executed
  • Maximise opportunities to grow clients spend and seek new potential opportunities
  • Ensure quotes are created and actions from meetings with clients are dealt with
  • Update customer service team and other departments in the business where issues arise ensuring all necessary key stakeholders are kept informed
  • Ensure all CRM systems are accurate and up to date with all relevant information
  • Drive customers online to help with their efficiencies of order processing
  • Resolve customer queries as soon as they are raised, liaising with other departments to ensure a swift resolution, escalating when appropriate


Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar proactive sales customer-focused role
  • Successful outbound sales experience in either phone, virtual and face to face
  • Experience using and updating CRM systems
  • Highly organised & accurate with strong attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise a varied workload
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills
