We are now recruiting for a sustainability advisor to join our Highways team in Doxey to support the Environment and Sustainability Manager on the early civils works contract for HS2 Phase 2a. This contract delivers highways improvements and survey works to facilitate the construction of HS2. The role is to ensure that sustainability and carbon reduction is embedded throughout the design and delivery of works in line with best practice, HS2 policies and contract requirements. Location: This is an agile role where you will be based out of our Doxey office with home working available and some travel to other offices and sites

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £Competitive

Responsibilities

As Sustainability Advisor/Lead you will act as sustainability champion, leading workshops to promote the uptake of sustainability best practice and drive carbon reduction.

Your day to day will include:

  • providing advice to multidisciplinary teams to help develop and implement sustainable design and construction practices in line with HS2 technical standards and requirements.
  • maintaining a carbon management process in accordance with PAS2080 and coordinate carbon and sustainability reporting will be a key aspect of the role
  • develop sustainability plans and documentation and coordinate the production of documentation
Who are we looking for?

This role of a Sustainability Advisor/Sustainability Lead is great for you if have:

  • membership of a relevant professional institute (such as IEMA, CIEEM etc.) where membership level requires a peer review process is required for the role
  • excellent technical sustainability knowledge and experience ideally gained within a construction related environment
  • the ability to work independently and effectively prioritise a diverse workload
