We're looking for a Signalling Principle Engineer to join our Infrastructure Rail team based in Rushden, Northamptonshire. Within this role you can enjoy 26 days annual leave, sharesave scheme, family friendly policies and even more.

Responsibilities

As a Signalling Principle Engineer, you'll be working within the Infrastructure Rail team, supporting with designing, producing and checking signalling specifications and other relevant documentation.

Your day to day will include:

  • Undertaking complex signalling detailed design with minimal rework in line with your signalling competence.

  • Use of Microstation CAD software and hand skills working on older style sepia records.

  • Actively support the tendering process; assist in compilation and review of tender documentation; attend client meetings.

  • Maintain IRSE Log book

  • Ensure that you comply with Network Standards and Rail Group standards.

  • To provide advice and guidance to the projects and various departments within the company on all aspects of signalling engineering including the interpretation of documentation

What do we need from you?

This role of Signalling Principle Engineer is great for you if:

    • You'll have HNC/BSc in Electrical Engineering and an IRSE Principle's designer license.

    • You'll have 10 years signalling design experience and an up to date log book

    • You'll have a general understanding of Health & Safety legislation CDM 2015

    • You'll have an expert understanding of railway practice and Network Rail Standards with a range of experience and complexity of signalling projects in the UK, which allows you to be able to develop signalling scope of works from first principles.

    • You'll be able to write complex technical documents or reports, as required.
