We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Highways team based in Birmingham. A Senior Engineer is required, that is a specialist in at least one of the following fields: Highway and Geometric Design, Signs, Road Markings and Lining Design, Traffic Safety Engineering and Road Safety Audits, Pavement Design and Asset Management, VRS Design and Drainage Design. Successful candidates will have a particular specialism but will also have a robust overall knowledge of the Highway Design field.

Location: Birmingham - remote working available, with travel to the office

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: £40k - £50k


Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you'll be working within the Highways team. The main purpose of this role is to deliver designs that are buildable and sustainable.

Your day to day will include:
  • Managing small teams of Engineers to deliver projects in accordance with the clients brief
  • Managing project related correspondence with all stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations

Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior Engineer is great for you if have:
  • Significant experience in the detailed design of highway related projects
  • Degree in Civil Engineering and professional membership of the ICE or similar. Or working towards professional status
  • A thorough knowledge of Highways England Design Manuals and Specifications
