Herts Resourcing Group is recruiting for a Skills for Life & Work Lecturer, on an ongoing temporary basis throughout the academic year.

This role is offering variable hours per week, offering between £19.74 and £21.42 per hour and you will be based in Broxbourne.

About the role

You will be responsible for delivering life skills in the Department of Inclusive Learning, teaching young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The development of effective communication skills and increased self-confidence that will lead to improved wellbeing.
  • The development of independent living skills that our young people need to make a successful transition into adult life.
  • The development of vocational/work skills that will form the stepping-stones to employment and/or supported employment.
  • Community Inclusion to ensure young people are active and safely engaged in their communities.
  • The development of health and wellbeing awareness across our provision, supporting young people to make healthy choices that will result in good health outcomes
  • This post may also include integrated and dedicated Entry Level Functional Skills (English, Maths and ICT) throughout the curriculum.

Personal specification:

  • Degree in a related subject
  • Teacher training qualification such as a PGCE or DTLLS
  • GCSEs C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Proven teaching experience in subject specialism in an FE environment
  • Proven experience of teaching adults with Special Educational Need and/or Disabilities
  • Knowledge of SEND Code of practice.
