Senior Quantity Surveyor Job in Farnham, Surrey / Site Based / Remote Working
Senior Quantity Surveyor job based in Farnham, Surrey (split between office, site and remote working). Reporting to and working alongside the Head of Commercial, you will be joining the new Southern region of a reputable residential development partner, working on developments of 20 - 250 mainly across East Sussex and West Sussex, the role offers a competitive basic of £70,000 - £80,000 + Car Allowance £5700 + Bonus, with further progression available as the commercial team grows.
Made up of 858 employees they are 50/50 Contractor/Developer business that delivers high-quality homes for sale and rent, investing in communities in partnership with local authorities, housing associations. They are a subsidiary of one of the UK's largest construction groups and now has 8 established regions in the UK. This is an exciting role supporting the Head of Commercial and being hands-on in commercial delivery from pre-contract/ estimation through to final accounts, playing an active part in developing relationships in the region with sub-contractors and joint venture partners alike. As a new region, they have an ambitious regional turnover target of £70m in 5-6 years.
Role & Responsibilities
- Pre-contract to final accounts including feasibility cost plans
- Future budgets, monthly reporting and cash flow forecasts
- Set and maintain procurement targets
- Develop the sub-contract supply chain and undertake robust due diligence prior to award and during contract
- Effective sub-contractor management
- Reporting on client and sub-contractor contracts to the Head of Commercial
- Contract Administration, attending monthly client meetings
- Establish a procurement programme
- Identify development risks and opportunities, implementing risk management plans where required
- Variations for both client and sub-contractors
- Liaising with development, land, technical and construction.
Required Skills & Experience
- Ideally 5+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying with experience working at a senior level
- Housebuilder background preferred, however residential main contracting background may also be considered
- Experience in Joint Venture Partnerships would be advantageous
- Experienced in pre-contract/estimation/cost planning through to final accounts
- Ability to mentor junior commercial team members as the team grows.

- Salary £70,000- £80,000
- Car Allowance £5700

- Ideally, office based 2 days a week, then the rest site based / remote working (however, this is to be discussed at interview and dependent on the location of the candidate)
