Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job in Sevenoaks, Kent
Assistant Quantity Surveyor required for a multidisciplinary consultancy based in Sevenoaks, Kent. Working on town centre high-rise, mixed-use developments in London and the Southeast. Offering a salary of up to £35k + Bonus + Travel + Excellent progression opportunities. You will be joining a growing cost consultancy team with a strong pipeline of projects. We are looking for Assistant Quantity Surveyors with ideally minimum 1+ years experience in cost planning in residential or commercial construction.
The consultancy offers a multitude of services including project management, surveying, cost consultancy, and design management, and specialise in residential and affordable housing projects for developers, Housing Associations and Local Authorities. Made up of around 100 employees and 4 offices, they are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of work across London and the Southeast.
Role & Responsibilities
- Working with mainly Local Authority, Housing Associations, and developer clients
- Cost Planning from RIBA Stage 0-3
- Preparation of Cost / Benefit analysis of design options
- Cost plans using Bluebeam
- Track and validate costs
- Client liaison and attending design team meetings
- Main contractor valuation certificates
- Reviewing and analysing Main Contractors tender submissions
- Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliations, reports and forecasts
- Cost exercises for clients
- Value Engineering
- Package Procurement and tendering
- Cost benchmarking
- Deal with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1+ years experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
- Residential or commercial construction experience
- Experience in detailed cost planning RIBA Stages 0-3
- Ideally New Build but major refurbishment experience also considered
- Consultancy, Developer or Main contractor experience
- Understanding of JCT Design and Build contracts
- Experience in Bluebeam would be advantageous but training can be provided
- Quantity Surveying Degree
- UK Driving Licence and own car.
