We are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager to join our Capital Projects Team here at Kier Places

Location: London, Site based with Occasional working from the Loughton Office

Contract: Permanent - Monday to Friday 40 Hours

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of projects, their key duties include planning, designing, executing, and monitoring every aspect of a specific project.

The Project Manager will also include the management and development of the full project team, such as Site Managers, Site Supervisors, Planner, Design Coordinator, Quantity Surveyors, Resident Liaison Officers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meeting with top management and clients to identify project requirements, delivery timelines and costs
  • Developing detailed project plans to guide clients, staff members and project teams and revising based on changing needs and requirements
  • Identifying and assigning project tasks based on the skill sets, experience and strengths of staff members
  • Monitoring project performance to ensure timely delivery
  • Compiling and submitting project status reports to clients, management and other stakeholders
  • Working effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation
  • Developing excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders
  • Obtain the necessary resources required for the project plan in order to ensure that the resources are deployed and managed effectively.
  • Ensure a robust project office support, benefits monitoring systems and appropriate financial control systems are in place to enable the upward reporting of information and to highlight problems in the deployment.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships providing formal reports and feedback as requires so that the conduct and completion of the project can take place in a smooth and effective manner.
  • Variations Identify project shortfalls and negotiate with customers where necessary regarding changes, variations and extensions to the project brief.
  • Ensure all aspects of the project are constantly reviewed both during and post implementation through conduct of formal project performance reviews.
  • Identify and develop new organic opportunities and/or secure additional income to maximise income, margin, profit and opportunities from within existing contracts.

Who are we looking for?

To be a Project Manager with Kier Places, you'll have a substantial background as a project manager with experience of delivering low to high value projects of varying scopes; a background in refurbishment, fit-out or building, a high level of knowledge in relevant M&E or Construction subjects; experience on public sector, government and/or local authority contracts.

You should also have commercially focused experience of being client facing within similar high-level contracts; have the ability to write a scope of works for tender purposes; Construction Design Management (CDM) & New Engineer Contract 3 (NEC3) experience; Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent; IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH; industry relevant qualifications, including qualifications such as Prince 2 or equivalent; and a high level of IT skills to include in Word/Excel and MPP (Project Programming).

The Capital Projects Team have a pipeline of opportunities to deliver cladding replacement projects to residential buildings across London and the South East. This is an established team with a track record of delivering high quality projects with high levels of customer satisfaction.

You will be working on a portfolio of projects predominantly involving the recladding of high-rise buildings, in which, by their nature, are safety critical works and involve significant fire and general safety risk, with typical project values between £2m and £9m, and of a construction nature.
