Job title: Account Manager
Reporting to: Head of Employer Engagement
Salary: £27,486 + performance related pay = potential to earn up to £31,000
Purpose of role:
The post holder will promote products and services to generate new business and secure repeat business. They will be required to meet income targets through effective sales methods, business needs analysis and solution development. Customers will be effectively account managed via the CRM to ensure high levels of repeat business and customer satisfaction. The post holder will be required to build business networks across the relevant sector to develop partnerships and referrals to aid business growth.
Main duties:
. Actively engage with new employers and employer groups to secure their commitment to working on their recruitment of apprentices, traineeships and support skills needs
· Through effective account management maintain regular contact with a portfolio of local employers, reviewing their current arrangements and/or exploring further collaboration and opportunities. Actively support existing employer relationships to secure repeat business
· Take responsibility for generating business leads with potential employers through a range of appropriate mediums including cold calling, virtual activity, conducting face-to-face business meetings and delivering presentations
· Provide employers with a timely and responsive service focused on meeting their business needs
· Undertake a 'needs analysis' with employers to understand their requirements and inform any business solutions offered
· Identify individual employer/sector training, recruitment or development needs and work in partnership with employers and internal colleagues to deliver customised packages
· Respond to all employer requests in a timely, effective and efficient manner
· Maintain the employer contact database through EBS and keep accurate employer records
· Ensure that filing, both electronic and paper-based information, is carried out efficiently and effectively to meet audit and quality requirements
· Ensure all current apprenticeship and traineeships job vacancies are advertised on the Apprenticeship Service in line with contract requirements. Communicate and work with the recruitment team to establish and monitor job vacancies. Recruit and match appropriate candidates with employer job vacancies to meet agreed apprenticeship and traineeship starts targets and ensure performance and contract targets are met
· Identify and sell other programmes against defined targets for employers as appropriate
· Develop an understanding of the business, overview of sector knowledge, labour market, local demographics and business trends; and ensure that this knowledge is shared with the Head of Employer Engagement
· Work with the Head of Employer Engagement to monitor recruitment requirements across curriculum areas and take action to address critical issues and hotspots
· Work in partnership with referral agencies and employer networks to promote and take action on engagement and recruitment hotspots. As an ambassador of the organisation, you are confident to network with stakeholders and to articulate at a high level the services and products offered
· Undertake such additional duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the level of responsibility within the company

Key Competencies
· Highly effective organisational and administrative skills
· Ability to develop productive working relationships and partnerships with agencies and employers
· Be able to analyse data and information to inform priorities and focus of work
Work experience
Essential:
· Previous work experience in a sales / recruitment / marketing role
Desirable:
· Previous work experience linked to adult education and /or apprenticeships
· Field sales experience in a business-to-business role
· Experience of sales in the hair and beauty sector
· Recruitment and matching of learners to work placements and apprenticeships
· Experience of Customer Relationship (CRM) systems
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
· GCSE A* - C / 4 - 9 in English and Maths or equivalent
· Excellent communication skills at all levels
· Excellent presentation skills
· IT competent
· Questioning and listening skills
