Quarry Fitter
Freemans Quarry, Bristol
Breedon are currently seeking a Fitter to join our aggregates team based at our Freemans Quarry near Bristol.
You will be responsible for developing a preventative maintenance system and carrying out planned maintenance activities to ensure that our quarry operates safely and reliably. You will also play a key 'hands on' role in the planning and implementation of plant improvements. You will need to have the ability to quickly fault find, respond to any unplanned plant shutdowns and work closely with other team members and contractors as required.
Some of your work will involve working with colleagues and suppliers on the telephone and by email to understand issues and to provide/receive advice, so your ability to communicate effectively is vital.
Experience in an industrial maintenance role would be a distinct advantage, as would a positive record and attitude towards health and safety. It would also be an advantage if you have experience of mechanical and electrical fault finding, diesel engines, hydraulics, crushing and screening, cutting, grinding, welding and fabrication in addition to general maintenance activities.
You will be provided with a van to travel to site and as a work resource on site, so a full driving licence is essential.
The Group places the highest importance on sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental management and you will be expected to contribute to the Company's zero harm culture.
A competitive remuneration package will be offered including business-use van, pension and life assurance.
Job type: full-time, permanent
Closing date for applications: 1st December 2022
By applying for this role, your details will be sent to Ortolan People, who are engaged to provide recruitment support in processing applications. We will endeavour to respond to all applicants within three working days. Occasionally for roles with a very high volume of applicants, this may not be possible.
