Roadworker

Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full time
Responsibilities
As Roadworker, you'll be working within the Maintenance team, supporting them with the maintenance and construction of roads, footways, drainage, and surfacing
Your day to day will include:
- Placing, spreading, levelling and compaction of stone, coated materials, concrete to accurate levels, digging, forking, raking, seeding grass and other horticultural operations
- Operating light plant machinery including compressors, rollers, disc cutters, vibrating plates, including responsibility for their daily maintenance and checks, also driving vans, pickups, and lorries under 7.5 tonnes
- Assisting skilled operatives in kerbing, drainage, concrete work, flag and block paving, bricklaying, drainage works, surfacing and surface repair, excavation of soil, rock, asphalt, concrete etc using hand and powered tools
- Hand sweeping, cleaning, litter picking, loading, unloading and general handling of materials and equipment, participating in winter maintenance and emergency standby and call out duties if required
This role of Roadworker is great for you if you can:
- Holds an operator's certificate in at least one relevant piece of plant and major equipment
- Display knowledge of health and safety in respect of self, the team, and members of the public
- Drive and have a full driving licence with HGV Class 2
