The Opportunity:

To support the development, delivery and execution of the Cht Quality Management system on site to achieve Quality Control (QC) compliance, with a robust Quality Assurance (QA) framework in place. This role will be reporting directly to the Project Quality Manager, who in turn reports directly to the Project Director for CHt / LOR.

This is an important QA/QC Engineering support role, for a large Nuclear project, to exacting requirements and the need for Lifetime Records, being generated for final handover.

What will the role look like?

  • Review of the Contract Quality Management requirements and Project specifications and associated drawings.
  • Understanding and compliance to the clients' Quality Management System and Lifetime Records (LTR) requirements.
  • Generation and adherence of the Site Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) document
  • Auditing and completion of Site QC Inspections on the projects to the project specification(s) and scope of works, as installed.
  • Perform Internal audits that feed into the LOR Quality KPIs / Statistics - monthly reporting.
  • Support the Project Leader and project team members with regard to 'best practice' installation methods.
  • Review of Project Documentation system for the project (both Hard & Softcopy file versions), for document retention and final handover.
  • Provide technical Electrical, Mechanical, Process Instrumentation and/or HVAC Mechanical support, where applicable (consultative support only)
  • Provide Quality training support to the project team (continuous basis)
  • Ensure avoidance of CFSI (Counterfeit, Fraudulent, Suspect Items) entering and being installed / discovered on site.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • 3rd Level Quality Management and/or an Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering coupled with 3+ years relevant experience in a Project Quality role (NVQ Level 6,7 or 8).
  • Previous Turnover / Test Pack documentation and System walkdown experience.
  • Technical Knowledge & Experience of either Mechanical or Electrical systems and standards - would be desirable.
  • Results/Achievement focused (Self driven).
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • Excellent communicator/strong interpersonal skills/communicates with impact
  • Commercial Acumen/ Value creator.
  • Organises and plans work effectively and efficiently.
