We are looking for a time served fully qualified experienced joiner to join our small family run business on a subcontractor basis with scope to turning this position into a permanent one. We are a joinery and flooring specialist business who cover the Edinburgh & Lothians area. We predominantly deal with flooring joinery including fitting new hardwood flooring (solid wood, engineered wood including Herringbone and Chevron) and restorations of older flooring however, we also deal with preservation & restoration joinery projects. We are looking for someone who has a diverse skill set including framing, plaster boarding, installing joists, fitting door frames, hanging doors, removal & fitting of skirtings and door standards, and flooring installation, etc. Also we are looking for the potential candidate to be confident in laying various types of hardwood flooring including herringbone and evidence of previous work would be required. We are looking for someone who is happy working on their own and as part of a team on various joinery and flooring projects. We need someone who can work in a timely manner and to deadlines. Uniforms would be provided which are branded with the business logo. Potential candidates must have their own tools and are responsible for their own public liability insurance. Driving licence and own transport is preferred however is not essential. If the candidate does not have own transport/licence, then must be willing to meet at various sites or at our meeting point ready to begin work. Hours are approximately Mon - Fri 8am-4pm. Half days are sometimes available on a Friday depending on workload. The potential candidate must bring a positive and polite manner to the job and for our clients. They must conduct themselves in a professional and helpful manner while representing the company. Salary would be £18-20 per hour based on experience and we are a registered CIS Tax contractor meaning that we would need the potential candidate to be registered self employed or be willing to do so.
