A great opportunity for a Senior Engineer - Traffic Signals to join Kier Highways working as part of Kier Highways Design Solutions in a broad versatile role that supports the end-to-end service model, from concept through design to delivery, into maintenance, including support and delivering of ITS / traffic signal projects for both Highways England and Local Authorities. You will assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budget for projects including the planning, monitoring and reporting of project resources and finances. Location: Flexible location - Rushden, Birmingham, London. Some home working available, and some travel required to other offices and sites within the UK.

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: £37k - £48k

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Design Team Leader - Traffic Signals you'll work within the Technology Lighting and Signals Team supporting activities and tasks through the scoping, development, delivery, construction, maintenance and co-ordination of our portfolio of ITS / traffic signal projects across the business.

Your day to day will include:
  • Prepare and check feasibility studies, appraisal / assessment reports and other written documents
  • Develop designs in accordance with the Client's requirements and relevant design standards to achieve cost effective solutions
  • Produce and check design concepts, design details, drawings specifications and other technical documents
  • Contribute to safe delivery, construction and maintenance of ITS / traffic signal projects through on-site audit, supervision and management
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the client and other relevant stakeholders working to develop and maintain high technical standards keeping up to date with client and industry technical updates and changes
Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior Engineer Traffic Signals is great for you if:
  • Educated to HNC/HND/Degree level in a technical/engineering discipline or significant specialist experience in lieu of formal academic qualifications
  • Have extensive experience in traffic signal design
  • Are computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS office suite and relevant engineering software packages such as AutoCad, KeySignals, Linsig etc.
