JOB DESCRIPTION:

Groundworks quantity surveyor required for a large nationwide construction company that specialises in demolition and groundworks projects. Our client is looking for experienced and hardworking Quantity Surveyor to join a project based in Birmingham. The site can be accessed by public transport, however own transport is preferred.

This contract will be ongoing, with hours being 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday and the potential option to work overtime at the weekends.

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to the directors you will work closely with all areas of the business (including the design and production teams) ensuring the effective undertaking of QS duties which will include but is not limited to the following;

    • Process initial enquiries and prepare tender submissions
    • Manage and control P&L on all projects and prepare cost value comparisons and projected final accounts
    • Review, approve, sign off weekly / monthly labour, sub-contractor and materials bills for payment
    • Prepare take offs and undertake estimates and final account settlements
    • Issue and manage sub-contract tender process through to final orders
    • Monitor sub-contractor performance and record additional works for presentation to management

  • A valid CSCS card
