- We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Manager in the Rail sector, with previous major MEP project experience (MEP value of £20m - 100m+) to be part of the design team responsible for managing the electrical design on one of our major rail infrastructure projects.
- Our design teams ensure technical excellence, assurance and performance across all projects and opportunities from pre-project, early engagement and work winning through to detailed delivery.

What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Electrical design experience with either an MEP consultancy or contractor on major bids and projects such as fast track data centres; hospitals; prisons; science; stadia; high rise commercial & residential; and infrastructure.
- Good understanding of rail standards and requirements (desirable but not essential)
- Ability to identify risks and opportunities and resolve design issues
- The ability to select & manage innovative methods, use of materials & safe systems of work.
- Effective communication with senior management, designers, consultants, clients/Architects and project team on technical matters.
Key duties include:
- Deliver the Technical and LOR Capabilities.
- Clearly demonstrates the Excellence+ behaviours.
- Provides a focus for and lead the pre-construction phase briefing and design processes.
- Leads LOR's design management procedures, providing a functional link between the commercial and construction teams and the designers throughout the project life.
- Implements the processes that enable the design to be challenged and interrogated within a collaborative team framework
- Implements agreed processes for the production, control and distribution of design information at different project stages.
- Ensures regular progress reporting of the design.
- Ensures design information is thoroughly reviewed: for buildability, safety and maintainability, 'completeness & compliance' and technical suitability before use.
- Assists the Design Leader in promoting innovation in design management, methodology, processes and practices.
