We're looking for a Assistant Design Manager to join our Regional Build team for HMP Glasgow. Within this role, you can enjoy exposure to exciting major projects, progression opportunities and even more.

Location: HMP Glasgow, Scotland

Contract: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday

Kier have been awarded a PCSA contract to develop the design for HMP Glasgow, which is a replacement for the existing adult male establishment at HMP Barlinnie. The project will deliver a new, modern prison that provides secure custody, safe and ordered prison regimes, high standards of decency and care, alongside opportunities for prisoners to develop in a way that helps them reintegrate on return to society on their release.?

The new prison is to accommodate spaces for 1,200 persons along with associated support facilities and regimes with an emphasis on rehabilitation through a focus on health and wellbeing. In developing the design we will explore options for delivering net zero carbon and embrace smart building technologies and automated processes to support the operation of the new facility.

Responsibilities

Your day to day will include:

  • Assist designing the solutions of projects and providing input at both pre-construction and construction stage of the project.
  • To recognise contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities for value engineering in order to minimise risk and maximise gross profit on contracts.
  • To support the fulfilment of the pipeline of contracts.
  • To implement all of Kier Group's relevant policies including those for SHE and risk management and solution design.
Who are we looking for?

This role of Assistant Design Manager is great for you if:

  • Experience in working in lard-scale projects of a value between £50-100m
  • Knowledge and experience in BIM level 2 projects, including COBie data, LoDM and experience in Construction Design Management
  • Have a track record of collaborative working with Clients and Consultants
