Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a Construction Company in the London area who are looking for a brand new Surveyor / Senior Surveyor to join their team covering Refurbishments, Fit-Outs team.

They are looking for an experienced Surveyor who has previous experience working on a variety of sectors from, School, Commercial, Residential, Leisure and more.

Duties:

  • Reporting to the Commercial Director, the new team member will take full financial control of between 3 and 4 projects.
  • A Contracts Manager will act as team leader for each project and surveyors will be expected to liaise and work closely with the CM and the supporting departments of purchasing and estimating.
  • Preparing and agreeing main contract valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Monthly cost value reconciliations and forecasts & Preparation and monitoring cash flow.
  • Financial control of Sub-Contractors from placing order to agreeing final accounts.
  • Producing pre contract budgets and Cost per square metre analysis.
  • Measurement and BQ preparation.
  • Supervision and training of junior staff.
  • Continually improve its relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Working with contract values typically range from £1,000,000 - £20,000,000 and will take place in Central, Greater London and the North and Eastern Home Counties.
  • Working on projects in education (state owned and private owned schools / facilities), Health, Heritage, Residential (private and public), Leisure and the Performing Arts.

Key Knowledge:

  • The successful candidate will be joining a strong experience working within the construction industry.
  • The right candidate must be familiar with all standard forms of contract, together with partnering and negotiated variants and will have 3 to 4 years post qualification experience.
  • They must have proven ability to work on projects with minimum supervision, highly developed interpersonal skills and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • An essential requirement will be good commercial awareness in both dealing with clients and sub-contractors.
