We're looking for a Depot Manager to join the team at our Witham Depot. This is a broad and varied role, Managing and developing Hire Centre activity in order to produce maximum turnover at agreed margins and to refurbish Hire Fleet Units to agreed quality standards within allowed costs. Balancing both a focus on business development activities through the support of BDM's to maximise the conversion of enquiries, with a real focus on operational excellence; controlling costs associated with refurbishment, ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety procedures and legislation to deliver to our expected quality standards. You will have a passion for coaching and developing teams, a real drive and enthusiasm to lead and support your team to maximise turnover at agreed margins and to refurbish Hire Fleet Units to agreed quality standards within allowed costs. This role will be suited to candidates who thrive in the face of challenge and conflicting priorities, who have strong leadership skills and a passion for growing and developing their team. Role Details
  • Salary: £45,000 - £52,000
  • Location: Witham (CM8 3UN)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Annual Leave: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Role Responsibilities
  • Provide coaching, leadership and motivation to drive towards the achievement of the Hire Centre objectives and KPIs, to ensure performance is maximised.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, performance management and reviews of colleagues.
  • Control all costs associated with the refurbishment and installation of Company products.
  • Liaising with Suppliers, Company Service Departments and external Services Companies, including Sub-contractors, to achieve maximum service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and/or Company procedure/Policies relating to Health and Safety.
  • Generate fresh business development initiatives to heighten local awareness in the area and ensure maximum conversion of direct enquiries in order to achieve hire order targets as agreed with the Regional Manager.

  • Substantial operational experience, including hands on programming and scheduling of works.
  • Experience in leading, developing and motivating sales & operational teams.

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs and is IT literate.
  • Full Valid driving licence.
