Daniel Owen has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager. Lead and take overall responsibility for delivery of the project safely, on time and to the client's satisfaction. Ensuring that during the project, all aspects of safety, environmental, quality, technical and commercial management issues are implemented and maintained. Working mainly around the educational projects, new builds schools, labs, educational facility.

Duties:

  • To lead and manage a project team to ensure they undertake their duties to the best of their ability in accordance with company requirements.
  • Understand requirements of the contract and be able to lead and advise the site team of the project requirements.
  • Ensure the site is always presented in a safe and professional manner.
  • To ensure you and the site team undertake contract administration in line with department's management procedures.
  • Understand all company electronic management systems and software required to undertake the role. Monitor compliance of the project team in relation to completion and uploading of required inspections and other safety related documentation.
  • Oversee the preparation and ownership of all contract and target programmes. Produce phasing documents, and be able discuss confidently with all parties.
  • Project reporting in a professional and timely manner. Be the single point of contact for client / client's representative. Ensure the detailed preparation and presentation of progress and key issue reports to client's team and internal management.
  • Work with the project commercial team to ensure optimum procurement of sub-contract packages. Check scope of works, competency of selected tenderers, attend tender clarification and pre-let meetings. Understand the status of the project financial performance.
  • Understand the implementation and management of the design process to ensure the design and procurement of sub-contract packages are delivered to suit the construction programme. Monitor Viewpoint 4P with the project design manager to ensure drawing workflows are maintained in line with the project design release schedule. Develop Value Engineering solutions where appropriate to improve commercial or programme benefits. Ensure design "sign off" and compliance with Employer's Requirements.
  • To ensure a good Considerate Constructor's Scheme (CCS) score is achieved. Support the B&K CSR manager in meeting project KPI's and other related commitments.
  • Understand the location of stored contract and subcontract documentation (Hard copy, Viewpoint 4P).
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of the Health and Safety File in readiness for project completion.

Key Knowledge:

  • Understanding of company Management Procedures (MP's)
  • Experience dealing with design issues.
  • Use of Viewpoint 4P.
  • Knowledge of the CCS requirements.
  • On-Site experience 2 + years minimum.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to work alone and within in a team.
