Quality Test Engineer
In order to deliver the exceptionally high standards of service excellence for which our client is renowned, an ambitious Quality Test Engineer with experience of engineering or mechanical testing is required to join a leading, well established independent confined space safety equipment service provider with a long-standing reputation for providing the best confined space training, instruction in the use of breathing apparatus and face fit testing available.
Building on our clients 20+ years of industry expertise the successful candidate, who will be based on site at our client's purpose-built laboratory, will work in line with ISO17025 focussing on the physical testing of respiratory protective equipment. The work is both interesting and varied with tests covering different technical areas including flammability, pressure and flow, wearer trials and breathing simulation.
Taking on elements of verification and validation engineering, the Quality Test Engineer will ensure products meet international standards before being used in potentially hazardous environments.

Skills & Experience
- Have some form of previous engineering and/or mechanical testing experience.
- Be able to setup and run tests using specialised equipment and following international standards.
- Have the perseverance and ability to see projects through to completion.
- Have a high level of attention to detail with the able to accurately report data and keep records of testing.
- Work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Commission and lean to use new lab equipment.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Be willing to evolve in the role and take on new challenges as the lab grows.
- Have a degree of creativity and problem solving.
- In time have the ability to work independently.
- Previous experience with UKAS, ISO17025 and ISO9001 would be beneficial.
- Have good communication skills.
