We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Highways team based in Coldharbour Depot, Aylesford to manage the QS team on our National Highways Maintenance & Response contract (NEC4 options A and E). Within this role, you can enjoy private healthcare, company car or car allowance, competitive annual leave with the option to buy/sell and even more.

Location: Coldharbour Depot - at least three days per week onsite

Contract: Permanent - flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know.

Salary: £competitive

Responsibilities

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, your primary function is to increase value, reduce cost, drive profit and manage risk in a safe and ethical manner.

Your day to day will include:
  • line management, induction and integration of new team members
  • ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are received on time
  • identify and implement cost saving wherever possible
  • ensure accurate cost capture and robust application process
  • provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets are exceeded
  • Implementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof including notices to client as appropriate
  • managing sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment
Who are we looking for?

This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if have:
  • experience of NEC contracts
  • educated to degree level, or equivalent experience
  • experience within a similar role, including line management experience
  • full UK driving licence
