Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full time, part time and flexible
Salary: Up to £35k + Pension + Benefits + Car allowance
Responsibilities
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them with control of highways services contract activities including revenue and capital highway maintenance works
Your day to day will include:
- Providing cost / value information for monthly applications and giving cost and contractual advice to project teams including designers and operational teams, preparing subcontract documentation and uploading into Causeway Project Accounting (CPA)
- Making feasibility estimates, agreeing target costs for schemes with project teams and sub-contractors, assessing subcontract liabilities and certifying payments to subcontractors, agreeing interim valuations and final accounts with sub-contractors and client including pain/gain calculations
- Liaising with the Project Manager and providing cost advice
- Issuing client and subcontract task orders and material orders, monitoring subcontract accruals and liabilities and works costs and on-site measurement with subcontractors and Project Teams
- Allocating early warnings and compensation events, delivering information for client and parent company audits and ensuring compliance with Kier Operating Procedures
This role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you can:
- Show an industry specific degree or equivalent as well as relevant work experience
- Demonstrate a good understanding of pricing highways / civil engineering works through schedule of rates, and first principle and knowledge of NEC 4 Term services contract
- Utilise your negotiation skills for our contract
