We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Highways Design team based in Salford, Manchester to produce highways designs, drawings, reports and supporting documentation in accordance with the brief, timescales, and budgetary allocation. Location: Salford, Manchester - working remotely with the need to attend the office as required (usually weekly) to meet the team

Contract: Permanent - flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

Salary: Up to £50k FTE

Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you'll provide support to the Principal Engineer of the design team on various design duties including but not limited to: the production of design schedules, Health, Safety and Welfare contract documentation in accordance with the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015: design drawings and associated documents

Your day to day will include:
  • prepare preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved design procedures for local and national authorities
  • delivery of technical and feasibility studies that satisfy client's technical specifications
  • conduct on site investigations and analyse data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other
  • contribute towards technical excellence and innovation across the team
  • maintain good relations with clients and other authorities, attending meetings as necessary
What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Engineer is great for you if have:
  • experience in a similar role within highways
  • a detailed working knowledge of relevant principles, practices and procedures in Highway Design and a good working knowledge of the CDM regulations
  • Competency with design software packages
  • member of a professional body, IEng / CEng status or working towards
  • full UK driving licence
