Quantity Surveyor Job in New Milton, Hampshire

Quantity Surveyor job based in Milton, Hampshire. Do you want to work for a reputable Design & Build company, helping to deliver exciting workplace projects in the South-East? Our Workplace D&B Client now requires a Quantity Surveyor to join their team of 45, they are looking for either a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, the role offers a salary that is flexible dependent on experience + Circa £5k commission + Mileage 45p per mile + Hybrid Working + 25 days Holiday and a comprehensive benefits package.

The family-run company was established in 2008 and has a long-standing and repeat client base, working on projects ranging from £200k - £8m. They provide an all-encompassing service to their clients as both main contractors, designers and project managers, offering both design & Build and fit-out services. They are a growing business and the role offers further progression for the right candidate. Ideally, you will come from a workplace/office D&B background, however retail, hospitality and residential will all be considered.

Role & Responsibilities

- Sub-contractor Tender and analysis alongside Contracts Manager

- Maintain financial control of projects

- Value and certify subcontract work, overseeing invoices and applications for payment as well as arranging payments

- Produce valuations and applications for payment to the client

- Identify opportunities for Value Engineering and reduce risk

- Develop relationships with key consultants and architects, with a view to generating new business

- Develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to develop a diverse supply chain

- Constantly review policies, practices and procedures to ensure continual improvement in our offering

- Understand the client's requirements and undertake feasibility

- Ensure timely cost and value reporting to ensure accurate cashflow reporting takes place

- Cost management including forecasting

- Reconciliation of CVR's

- Attend site meetings and manage variations

- Correctly apply the terms of the main contract.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ Years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor

- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or similar

- Experience of cost planning

- Ability to work on projects from pre-contract through to final accounts

- Ideally, experience within workplace/commercial Design & Build but other sectors will be considered

- A good knowledge of JCT contracts & current building regulations

- A clear understanding of HSE Building Regulations and legal guidelines

- Good knowledge of M&E

- Proficient in Microsoft Office in particular Excel

- UK Driving Licence and own Vehicle.
