Contract: Permanent, Fulltime
Salary: £36k - £40k + 26 days of annual leave + Benefits
Responsibilities
As an Engineer working in the Kier Structures team, you'll produce technical designs/documentation and support the Lead Engineer in the delivery of highways' structures feasibility studies, structural assessments, detailed design on both local authority maintenance and major projects new-build schemes. You will support the production of cost estimates and programmes, liaising with commercial and construction teams as well as the client as needed.
Your day to day will include:
- Support the Lead Engineer in the delivery and management of highways structures design schemes, carrying out calculations as well monitoring and reporting on costs.
- Prepare technical designs, documents and drawings using the latest structural analysis software sharing knowledge to developing junior staff
- Undertake site visits to gather background data, plan delivery, respond to technical queries and liaise with delivery and commercial teams as well as the client.
Who are we looking for?
This role of Engineer is great for you if you have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Status of a relevant professional institution such as MICE, MIStructE
