We are looking for a Beat Keeper to undertake the following duties on a day-to-day basis:
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure assigned beat is maintained to a high standard and necessary steps are being taken to produce high numbers of grouse during the shoot period
- Ensure effective vermin control is carried out (trapping, snaring, shooting) in line with regulations
- Heather Burning
- Distribution of grouse grit on assigned beat
- Prevent poaching
- Managing beaters and drives on shoot days
Knowledge/Experience/Skills/Abilities
- Experience working on a grouse moor
- Skilled with vermin control
- Proficient at controlling heather burning with knowledge of regulations
- Experience with all firearms
- Experience with Poaching prevention
- Abilities with various Agricultural Machinery
- Quad bike licence
