We're looking for a Deputy Ecological Manager to join our Major Projects team based in West Midlands to support the Environmental Manager in managing environmental risk to HS2, a key rail contract. You will lead on delivery and advising on environmental and ecological surveys. Location: West Midlands - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.

Contract: Permanent - flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

Salary: £35k - £40k FTE

Responsibilities

As a Deputy Ecological Manager, you'll Ensure delivery of key ecological and environmental surveys to advise on future design and works along with identifying and managing risks to contracts and delivery

Your day to day will include:
  • Advise and support the Client and Kier Highways colleagues on environmental matters and ensure Legal and contractual compliance in environmental terms.
  • Liaise with non-statutory and statutory environmental bodies where appropriate.
  • Undertake site audits and inspections.
  • Assist with developing strategy, provide mentoring and line management functions.
  • Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with all legal requirements.
Who are we looking for?

This role of Deputy Ecological Manager is great for you if have:
  • relevant environmental degree
  • membership of / or working towards a relevant professional body
  • experience coordinating and advising on environmental input into design and delivery of various construction activities to both rail and highways.
