Clerk of Works Job in Southend-on-Sea, Essex

Clerk of Works job based in, Southend-on-Sea, Essex covering sites across Essex and East London for an award-winning multidisciplinary consultancy, joining a growing site inspection team. Offering a salary of up to £50,000 + remote working + 24 days holiday + future progression. To be considered you must have a strong understanding of new build residential construction from foundation to final snagging, ideally as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector or similar background.

The multidisciplinary consultancy is award-winning and specialises in commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, mixed-use and residential projects. Offering a multitude of services in Architecture, BIM, M&E, Engineering, Surveying, Project Management and H&S. Made up of 6 offices and 350 staff, they are continuing to grow and offer excellent progression opportunities as well as financial support towards relevant industry qualifications and accreditations.

Role & Responsibilities

- Working on new build, large-scale residential construction projects

- Regular inspections of new build construction work to monitor progress and quality

- Verify compliance with contractual drawings, specifications, warranty standards and Employer's Requirements

- Snagging and end of defect inspections

- Identify discrepancies and prepare written reports with supporting photographs

- Close liaison with main contractors and site teams to review and advise on quality management

- Occasional need to visit manufacturers to review quality.

Required Skills & Experience

- A Good knowledge of current Building Regulations and Warranty provider standards etc.

- Ideally previous experience working as A Clerk of Works / Site Inspector

- A detailed knowledge of various forms of construction

- Experienced in producing site inspection reports

- Microsoft Office

- Experienced in new build high-rise residential projects is preferred

- Experience in passive fire and recladding projects is desirable

- Ideally MICWCI, MCIOB, MRICS, ICWCI or MCABE or working towards

- UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.
