We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to undertake the following duties on a day-to-day basis:
Key responsibilities
- Undertake general building maintenance & repairs throughout our buildings.
- Maintaining commercial kitchens plant & equipment.
- Maintaining kitchens, bathroom plumbing, sanitary ware & drainage.
- Basic carpentry, door hinges & locks. Plastering, tiling, Painting & decoration. Replacing damaged ceiling tiles. General lighting checks.
- Source materials from local suppliers and manufacturers.
- Oversee contractors.
- Assist other staff members as required. I.E., replaced AHU filters.
- Maintain a safe working environment for colleagues.
- Provide cover for colleagues in times of absence and on - call assistance.
- Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standard.
- Ensure a professional approach is always delivered with particular emphasis on maintaining confidentiality.
- Liaise regularly with colleagues, supervisors and managers to ensure an efficient and effective service is always delivered to the client.
- Provide a highly customer focused service to the company and client at all times.
- Provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
- Adhere to all company policies & procedures, particularly to health & safety.
- Any other duties as and when required.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate good use of basic hand tools.
- Knowledge of a building trade i.e., carpentry, door & window locks, decorating, plastering & tiling.
- Sound numerical ability for measuring and making calculations.
- Have recognised C&G, NVQ qualifications.
- Basic knowledge of current Building Regulations.
- A thorough understanding of Health and Safety standards.
- A professional approach with particular emphasis on maintaining confidentiality.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Significant proven experience.
- Be able to follow specific instructions.
