We're looking for a Design Team Leader to join our Highways team based in Salford, Manchester to be responsible for a team producing highways designs, drawings, reports and supporting documentation in accordance with the brief, timescales and budgetary allocation. Location: Salford, Manchester - remote working with the need to attend the office as required (usually weekly) to meet the team

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: £competitive


Responsibilities

As a Highways Design Team Leader, you'll lead a team consisting of Senior Engineers, Engineers, Technicians and Graduates and taking responsibility for designs, drawings and reports produced to meet the client requirements.

Your day to day will include:
  • ensuring that deliverables are produced to programme, following Kier processes and procedures as well as the Client specific requirements
  • identifying design solutions and ensuring their compliance with the requirements of the DMRB and other relevant design standards, health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
  • collaborating with other design disciplines and the Principal Contractor
  • attendance and representing Kier at Client meetings
  • supporting the design and project managers in the reporting of progress to clients including review of completion against planned programme

Who are we looking for?

This role of Design Team Leader is great for you if you are a:
  • Chartered / Incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (MICE / MICIHT or equivalent)
  • demonstrable broad in-depth experience in inspection, design, and construction of highway schemes to UK standards
  • full driving licence
