Group Financial Controller - Edinburgh Based (hybrid working home and office)

You will also be managing external service providers and in time a team.
Reporting to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will work to ensure delivery of timely group reporting on a monthly and annual basis, will have day to day responsibility for controlling expenditure and funding flows, and will have oversight responsibility for timely reporting for all international operating companies and / or project SPV's.
As of April 2023, the Company's international operating companies and SPVs include entities in Spain, Italy and US. Further expansion is envisaged as part of the current 5-year business plan.
Key activities and responsibilities:
- The preparation of monthly management accounts for the UK entities in the group.
- The production of the monthly consolidated financial results and monthly management data to the Board of Directors and others
- Partnering with development teams in monitoring project budgets and expenditure
- Supporting the Budget and Forecast processes including regular updating of cashflow forecasts
- Supervision of accounts payable processes in the UK and overseas
- Preparation of UK VAT filings and coordinating the compilation of tax pack information
- The preparation of statutory accounts for the Group TopCo, ensuring timely audit sign off.
- Managing the preparation and sign-off of statutory accounts for overseas companies, working with the relevant local advisors
- Providing guidance to the Senior team on complex accounting issues
- Driving improvement in all statutory reporting activities across the Company
- Responsible for various, local, audit controls including Intercompany reconciliations, inter-company transfers
Qualifications and experience:
- ACA Qualified and experience of working with a multinational business
- IFRS and Group consolidation experience required
- Strong communication skills
- Experience within a construction and/or development environment desirable
- Attention to detail and the desire to develop and improve systems and processes
- Flexible, proactive and self-motivated, team player with excellent organisational skills
- Strong communication skills, ability to negotiate and build relationships across the wider business
