Ideally the field service engineer will live in or around the Loughborough. This will be the candidates home base and you will be travelling to sites around the company visiting different engineering companies who are contracted with the client.

The candidates primary function will be overhaul and repair of rotary equipment and ancillaries. You will be responsible for the servicing, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning of a wide range of pumps and associated equipment predominantly in the power, water, manufacturing, and industrial sectors with exposure to both heavy and light engineering tasks.

Shift information

The field service engineer must be ok with working Monday to Friday 07:30am-15:30pm. There is a slightly earlier finish on the Friday at 15:00pm.

The salary is based on a 37 hour core week with standard hours. Overtime is then accrued and paid one month in arrears, this can be time and half or double time depending on the amount of hours worked. The overtime rate is based on the salary of the candidate.

DUTIES:

  • Strip and overhaul of rotary equipment and valves.
  • Completion and accurate reporting and concise spares list if needed.
  • Accurate completion of daily timesheets and expense sheets.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving 'on site'.
  • Perform laser alignments.
  • Installation and commissioning of rotary equipment and valves.
  • Carry out inspections and analysis on site.
  • Installation of mechanical/engineering equipment.
  • Maintain tools and ensure equipment for calibration is up to date.
  • Reduce/Minimise rework by maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping is practised.
  • Liaison with Field and Workshop Services co-ordinator.
  • Undertake 'workshop service' activities when required.
  • Responsible for company vehicle and contents whilst travelling to and from Loughborough
  • Timely submission of reports and timesheets.
  • Contribute to company continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working within H & S guidelines.
  • Adhere to company values.
