We're looking for a Section Engineer to join our Oxford Station team based in Oxford, Oxfordshire. Within this role you can enjoy 26 days annual leave, sharesave scheme, family friendly policies and even more.

Responsibilities

As a Section Engineer, you'll be working within the Oxford Station team, supporting with the multi-discipline station upgrade which will increase the station capacity by constructing an additional platform and associated track through the existing operational station.

Your day to day will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of 'as-built' drawings.
  • Establishing effective systems to record work completed updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
  • To assist in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions and quantity.
  • Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e. drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
  • Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks, checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.


What do we need from you?

This role of Section Engineer is great for you if:

  • You will have a relevant qualification (Management qualification / NVQ L3 / HNC / Degree).
  • You'll have knowledge and experience of the main management systems and processes used within a similar business, preferably in a Network Rail or comparable setting.
  • You'll have a commercial and contractual awareness.
  • You will have the ability to liaise in a professional manner with Client, Client Representatives, General Public.
  • You'll have experience in a similar role.
