Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire

Contract: Full time, part time and flexible

Responsibilities

As Assistant Accountant, you'll be working within the business services team, supporting them in the financial administration of highways maintenance contracts including cost capture and procurement and ensuring compliance with parent company financial procedures and all aspects of commercial and financial performance.

Your day to day will include:

  • Supporting the contract finance team in the production of monthly management accounts, providing high quality accounts reconciliations to support monthly management accounts.
  • Making of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, aiding with audit queries internally and externally
  • Generating key monthly management reporting information, accurate cost reconciliations for people & plant, liaising with other contracts on inter-company balances and invoicing
  • Helping the contract management team in driving contract efficiencies, assisting in arranging management accounts through to trial balance for the contract(s), maintenance of accounting system via journal entries and monthly accruals
  • Preparing key data for monthly client application for payment (including associated reconciliations), also supporting the commercial team with completion of monthly cost value reconciliations (CVR's)

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and computerised accounting systems
  • Work to tight deadlines, with accurate outputs
