We are currently seeking a Construction Manager level Rail Systems Lead for our Rail Operations hub in Melbourne.
The purpose of this role is to support the overall Rail Systems team (Track; CSR; OHL; Traction Power) for safe and successful delivery of the installation aspect of assigned Rail Projects.
Rail Operations is an internal Business unit within Laing O'Rourke, specialising in sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Victoria.
Key responsibilities
- Main contributor to the development of construction methodology to minimise/control hazards and ensure works are carried out by suitably qualified and experienced personnel for the relevant Rail System
- Oversee procurement of plant and labour ensuring allocated delivery resource by project engineering & supervision is correct and is to the agreed budget
- Assist in raising the profile of occupation planning and delivery to bring activities forward and complete them efficiently, ensure continued focus on planning activities and deliverables.
- Assist in development of Track, CSR, OHW and Signalling by developing capability and skills sets in your team. Additionally, supporting the discipline Leads in change management process for any deviation from plan, providing critical review and solutions to assist in suitable approvals so works can proceed.
- Involvement in project handover, ensuring Quality Management systems adhered to by direct reports and all deliverables closed out in a timely manner with early and progressive handover of the Rail Systems
About you
- Degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Construction Management.
- Significant experience in a rail project delivery environment and exposure managing teams for delivery phase of construction.
- Minimum of 10 years in industry with demonstrated SME experience across multiple rail systems
- Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, commercial acumen.
- Ability to communicate on all levels
