We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Highways team based in Penrith. Location: Penrith, Cumbria

Contract: Permanent with agile working

Salary: £Competitive + Company Car + Benefits + Pension



Responsibilities

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, assisting with the control of costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities and maintaining the required standard of quality and safety on a range of contracts.



Your day to day will include:

  • Managing the commercial resources (finance) of the assigned project (or section) maximising planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts
  • Procurement of sub-contract works in accordance with Kier Group's policies
  • Providing commercial expertise to contracts, to include the production and submission of valuations, claims, budget monitoring, and contract/workstream performance data, promoting Kier Group's values towards customers, to meet or exceed their expectations
  • Assessing, reviewing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks and implementing Kier Group's policies for risk management, supporting the authorisation and submission of project variations, authorising the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders
  • Maximising cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuing work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers, valuing work executed by sub-contractors and certifying interim and final payments, implementing all of Kier Group's policies including those for SHE and risk management
Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you can:

  • Show relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying) with experience in a similar role in the construction / highways Industry
  • Be flexible in hours of work and travel to different business offices / sites
