We're looking for a Highways Drainage Maintenance Operative to join our Drainage Team. Location: Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £22,672 - £30k plus benefits package



Responsibilities

As a Highways Drainage Maintenance Operative, you will provide all types of gully cleaning, cyclic and reactive, attending to flooding and including high-pressure jetting, and carrying out customer complaints. Iron work, drainage repairs working with various teams to solve problems and investigation.



Your duties will include:

  • To drive or operate vehicles and plant requiring specialist skills, including undertaking daily vehicle checks, routine maintenance (e.g. oil, water, wiper fluid), and cleaning; and to ensure defect reports are completed and submitted.


  • Taking responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with the relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public.


  • To keep records, complete all necessary paperwork, communicate, and liaise with other employees of Kier, sub-contractors, the emergency services, the police, the general public, clients, and customers.




  • Who are we looking for?

    This role of a Highways Drainage Maintenance Operative is great if you have the following:

    · Full UK driving licence, an HGV licence is required to drive the gully vac and is preferred.

    · CPC required to drive vehicles (this can be obtained with Kier)

    · Experience in drainage work preferred

    · Ability to work in all weathers
