Position: Electronic Billing Specialist
Location: Birmingham
Job Summary: You will be responsible for managing and processing all aspects of electronic billing for my clients legal firm. Your primary role will involve preparing and submitting electronic invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines and regulations. You will collaborate with attorneys, partners, and support staff to facilitate efficient and timely billing processes. Additionally, you will monitor and resolve any billing discrepancies, communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries, and assist in maintaining billing systems and records.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process electronic invoices accurately and efficiently, adhering to client billing guidelines and legal regulations.
- Collaborate with attorneys, partners, and support staff to gather relevant billing information and ensure timely invoice preparation.
- Conduct thorough reviews of billing data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client requirements.
- Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues, coordinating with internal departments as necessary.
- Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and resolving concerns promptly.
- Maintain organised billing records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Assist in the development and improvement of billing processes, systems, and policies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to electronic billing.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in electronic billing within a legal firm or professional services environment.
- Proficient knowledge of electronic billing systems and software, such as Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard.
- Strong understanding of billing practices, guidelines, and regulations in the legal industry.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data accurately.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using billing software, spreadsheet applications, and other relevant tools.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for identifying and resolving billing discrepancies.
