We're looking for a Team Leader to join our Highways team based in Bristol to take the lead and manage a team to prepare scheme designs, design checks, feasibility reports and overall technical support on various Highway design contracts within Kier Design & Technology Services. Current contracts include Local Authority Highway Works, National Highways Area & Regional Contracts particularly Major Projects A66 NTP and M6 Emergency Laybys. Location: Bristol - remote working available with travel to the office

Contract: Permanent, flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

Salary: £45K-53K



Responsibilities

As Team Leader, you'll be working under broad direction with little supervision, managing own time effectively establishing own milestones, deadlines and team objectives and delegates responsibility to ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective way

Your day to day will include:

  • provide design support to the Design Manager and highways design team(s) overseeing the preparation of technical drawings, specifications and design calculations. Reviewing work of other professional staff and may direct a team and/or a unique element of a project
  • preparation of fee estimates, design programmes, tender and contract documents. Making a positive contribution towards bids and project proposals making suggestions for new areas of work
  • maintain good relations with the Client and other authorities, attending meetings as necessary


Who are we looking for?

This role of Team Leader is great for you if have:

  • experience in a similar role within highways design, working on National Highways / Local Authority schemes in the UK
  • chartered member accreditation or working towards
  • experience in overseeing and mentoring junior members of staff and liaising with a variety of stakeholders
